Here he is - the new love of my life, that big-boned guy I'm crazy about!
No, I haven't left my dear wife, but I just started using this wonderful Christmas present given to me by my mother-in-law, Jan. Wow, what a difference it makes! I just love the fusing speed the torch makes possible. And it's that power tool thing that empowers.
I worked on a couple of pieces today and hope to have pix tomorrow. You'll see the difference in my work - and this was just the first day. I'll be making room-sized paintings before I know it.

Hey Nancy,
I've been using the Fat Boy for a year now. Love it! I have it hanging off the side of my work table. Unbelievably convenient...
Isn't he great?!! I put the boy in the holster and hung it off the side of my work table, too. It's very convenient and that seemed better to me than wearing the holster and possibly becoming a human torch.
Wow, this boy is going on my wish list for next year. Correction: I'm going to give one to myself as soon as possible!
You've piqued my interest in this fella. I'm finding the heat gun limiting but as yet haven't made any moves to a torch. It's the open flame that puts me off. Nancy,I'd love to hear what the differences between the two are and how you see your work improved.

Thea - I found it at Home Depot for around $67 for the kit (and gave the info to my mother in law to purchase it for me). Whatever the exchange rate is, you will probably get it for less.
Margaret - Thanks for your comment. I'm going to talk more about it when I publish the pics.
Nancy,
Like you, I resisted the open flame in my studio until just a couple of months ago. Bought the same guy and I love it too.
